PRIZE DETAILS

Individual winner prize - £500 cash^, a professional recording session or show reel produced by NULC, 12-month’s access to the state-of-the-art facilities at the PAC*, a winner’s interview hosted at Signal 1 and winning performance showcased on NULC.ac.uk.

The individual winner will also receive a special prize for their school in addition to their own personal prizes which is 12-month’s access to the state-of-the-art facilities at the PAC**.

Signal Radio and NULC will showcase the winner and four finalists on their website and social media sites. Signal will cover the final through website hosting.

The runner up will receive – A professional recording session or show reel produced by NULC.

Subject to availability and booking with NULC

*30 hours of access to the PAC subject to availability and pre-booking via the PAC manager.

**50 hours of access to the PAC subject to availability and pre-booking via the PAC Manager.

THE GRAND FINALE

The Grand Finale will take place at Newcastle-under-Lyme College’s Performing Arts Centre on Friday 16th February.

There is only one cash prize of £500. If a group win the individual prize then the cash prize will be split between the members.

RULES

The following rules (“Rules”) together with Wireless Group general and competition terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) (which can be found at www.signal1.co.uk/starsearch apply to the “Signal’s Star Search “ radio competition ("the Competition") which will run on the following dates 5th January -26th January 2018 The "Radio Station" is Signal 1.

Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them. The Terms and Conditions are available on request from the Radio Station.

1.1 To enter the competition an entrant must

Register via the website signal1.co.uk by submitting an mp3 up to 10mb or a YouTube/vevo link to view the video submission.

Entrants must be aged between 11-16 years of age

Entrants must live within the transmission area of Signal 1

Videos do not need to be professionally recorded and can be recorded and uploaded using a smart phone or tablet.

There will be five finalists who will be contacted by 2nd February and a further five finalists, one of whom will be then chosen by the public to become the ‘wild card’, sixth finalist.

Age: In order to apply for the Competition, you must be at least 11 (Eleven) years of age on 1st June 2017 (“the Minimum Age”). All Entrants who meet the Minimum Age, Minor Entrants: All Entrants who meet the Minimum Age requirement but are younger than 18 (eighteen) years of age at the time of entering the competition (“Minor Entrant”) must obtain the consent of a parent / legal guardian.

Entry Close Date: The Organisers reserve the right to suspend the entry process at any time.

1.2 Prize Details

No change given, no alternative prize. Prize money is split between the winners if more than one person enters as a group entry.

They will also be able to win the chance for their school to have access to the PAC as a school**

Runner up - Professional recording session or show reel produced by NULC

If applying as a group then it needs to be a maximum of 6 per entry

Access days and times to use the PAC facilities will be subject to availability and agreement with the Performing Arts Centre manager

The winning school will receive *50 hours access over a 12 month period subject to availability and pre-booking with the Performing Arts Centre manager

Individual winner will receive 30 hours access over a 12 month period subject to availability and pre-booking with the Performing Arts Centre manager

Contestants must be available to perform if selected at the Finale event at Newcastle under Lyme’s Performance Arts Centre on Friday 17th February

By entering Contestants give consent for their entry to be voted on by the public should they be selected for the wild card opportunity.
