Ed Sheeran quits twitter after excessive trolling
After taking a break from social media for over a year recently, Ed has been back only a few months but has already turned his back on Twitter after being trolled repeatedly.
The singer is no stranger to criticism online but says recent events have meant he will no longer use Twitter directly.
The majority of his tweets are posted automatically from Instagram posts and from now on this is the only way he will use the social media site.
Last week he faced backlash from angry Glastonbury viewers who thought he was using a backing track during his headline set on the pyramid stage.
Never thought I'd have to explain it, but everything I do in my live show is live, it's a loop station, not a backing track. Please google x— Ed Sheeran (@edsheeran) June 26, 2017
Speaking to The Sun, Ed said “I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it.
“I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that.
“One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it.
“The head-f*** for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”
We still love you, Ed! Come back soon... :(
