"I was drunk when I played against Manchester Utd"

Ex-Birmingham City star Curtis Woodhouse has admitted he was drunk when he played against Manchester United and was 'crap' for the Midlands outfit.

In an explosive Twitter rant the current British light-welterweight boxing champion recalled his big game against Manchester United by saying: "Great picture?? I was drunk during that game, Old Trafford, big game and I'm p****d, that's what that pic reminds me of."

Although the rant was not directed at anyone in particular, Woodhouse seemed to be taking his previous pitfalls very hard.

Woodhouse made 48 apperances for Birmingham City between 2001 and 2003 but the ex-England Under-21 international quit football at the age of 26 when he swapped the pitch for the ring. He played for the Blues in the Premier League after signing from Sheffield United for £1 million but quickly realised he needed to change sports. He later confessed to having "completely fallen out of love with football" and said boxing had always been his "first love".
