Dr Ivan Petyaev is a man who knows what women want. Namely – to eat chocolate and look young.
With this in mind, he’s invented Esthechoc (also known as Cambridge Beauty Chocolate) – a product he’s calling ‘the world’s first Beauty Chocolate’.
The long and short of it is this – Dr Ivan Petyaev is claiming that eating this chocolate will make you look younger.
And we’re not just talking about shaving a few years off.
Talking about the clinical trials, Dr Ivan Petyaev told the Telegraph: ‘We used people in their 50s and 60s and in terms of skin biomarkers we found it had brought skin back to the levels of a 20 or 30 year old.’
So what’s the science behind it?
Well, the 70 per cent cocoa chocolate contains very high levels of cocoa flavanols and marine carotenoid astaxanthin, which the Lycotec websiteexplains are ‘powerful antioxidants with pleotropic anti-ageing properties’.
In fact, the Lycotec website expalins that just 7.5g of Esthechoc contains ‘flavanol activity equivalent to 100g of dark chocolate, and astaxanthin to the level of 300g of wild Alaskan salmon.’
And it seems you won’t need to wait long to test this miracle choc out for yourself.
Dr Ivan Petyaev told Cambridge News: ‘It will be available online, but in the UK we have a plan with a prestigious retailer, one of the top retailers in the country, which will stock it.’
You might want to start saving though, as according to its brochure the chocolate is being marketed at ‘elegant, educated and affluent’ city-dwelling women in their 30s, and businessmen ‘to support their appearance in a stressful environment and on their business travels.’
