The former Bistro owner feel when he runs into the other love of his life – Carla Connor, who he was briefly married to before she left?

Nick – played by returning actor Ben Price – was last seen on the cobbles over a year ago when he made a low-key exit after almost meeting his death in some quicksand.

He was raising baby Olly with Leanne but became increasingly uncomfortable about her relationships with Steve McDonald – who is Olly’s real dad – and Peter Barlow – who is dad to Leanne’s adopted son, Simon.

In the end it all got too much for Nick and he fled the street, only telling his mum Gail Platt that he was off and leaving new mum Leanne broken-hearted.

He also left her homeless after selling the flat she and Olly were living in from under her.

The Sun exclusively revealed that Nick will be back in Weatherfield in October 2018 and that actor Ben Price had started filming.

The character was first introduced in 1981, and was previously played by Adam Rickitt.

A source told the Sun Online: “Everyone’s really excited to have Ben back.

“He was definitely missed during his break but he’s back now and it’s like he’s never been away.”

Nick’s return was first reported by The Sun’s Bizarre column back in April 2018.

At the time a Corrie source said: “Exactly how Nick will be brought back into the fray is still to be decided.

“But the Platts, and in particular Nick, are a massive part of the Corrie family and always at the heart of some of the show’s biggest storylines. Producers are currently coming up with a bombshell way for him to come back to Weatherfield.”
