Madonna has lashed out against an unauthorised biopic reportedly in the works at Universal Studios.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a script called Blond Ambition is complete and has been picked up by Universal Pictures, after one year on Hollywood's Black List of films yet to be produced.
In a post on Instagram on Tuesday, the singer appeared to voice her displeasure at the planned film.
"Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen," Madonna wrote.
"Only I can tell my story. Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool. Looking for instant gratification without doing the work," she added.
"This is a disease in our society."
The screenplay is the first from writer Elyse Hollander, and was reportedly the most admired unproduced script of 2016, topping a yearly list which invites film executives to vote on their favourite project.
The film is reportedly being produced by Fifty Shades Of Grey boss Michael De Luca and Brett Ratner.
It follows Madonna Louise Ciccone as she struggles in a business with no respect for women, while balancing an extreme love life and takes her first steps towards stardom.
