They took home the top prize at the Inside Soap Awards. It is the first time the series has won the Best Soap title in the event’s 23-year history.
The Channel 4 show’s Stephanie Davis, who plays Sinead O’Connor, also walked away with the Best Actress award, and her co-star Adam Woodward, who stars as Brody Hudson, picked up Best Actor.
EastEnders and Emmerdale each won four gongs at the London ceremony.
Danny Dyer , who appears in the BBC 1 soap as Mick Carter, won Funniest Male, while his co-star Lorraine Stanley, who plays Karen Taylor, picked up the Funniest Female gong. In the Dales, Louisa Clein – who shocked as evil Maya Stepney – was awarded Best Bad Girl and the Best Partnership went to Dominic Brunt and Lucy Pargeter.
But it was a disappointing night for Corrie, which limped home with two awards.
