Benidorm bosses must have dreamt up the cameo list for the new series in the pub.
First they signed up Eighties comedy duo HALE AND PACE — then THE CHUCKLE BROTHERS — and now they have their most unlikely signing to date, Britain’s most offensive comedian ROY CHUBBY BROWN.
The funnyman is heading to the Solana hotel, and he won’t be playing himself, but rather a proper speaking role.
A source said: “Roy is really keen to get back into acting and thinks a role on Benidorm will get him back into mainstream telly.
“He obviously doesn’t take himself very seriously and neither does the show so it was thought as a good fit.”
Roy, who refers to himself as the “bad boy” of British comedy, often shocks fans with his free-speaking act, which has often been accused of being politically incorrect.
But it’s not the first time the outspoken comic has undertaken a proper role.
Back in 2000 he played Mayor Larry Vaughan in off-the-wall BBC Two series The League of Gentlemen – set in the fictional town of Royston Vasey, which is the comic’s real name.
He jetted out to the Costa Del Sol to film scenes alongside cast, including TIM HEALY and SHERRIE HEWSON, which are due to air in the new series next year.
Hopefully Roy left his lewd banter and clown suit at home.
