Roundabout in front of war memorial will be removed
Controversial road changes in in Leek town centre get underway.
Work to remove the roundabout in front of the Nicholson War Memorial is due to get underway today, following preparatory works last week.
The roundabout will be replaced by traffic lights.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and Staffordshire County Council say they hope the changes will improve traffic flow in the town centre.
Following concerns raised about pedestrian safety, a zebra crossing on Ball Haye Street will be retained and a staggered pelican crossing will be introduced on Haywood Street.
