Cheshire East Council is asking for volunteers to help at centres set up in Crewe to hold items donated for residents affected by the fire at the Beechmere retirement complex.
Around 130 residents have lost their homes and possessions following the blaze, which started on Thursday.
Hundreds of people have given clothing, toiletries, food and blankets to pass on to them.
They are asking people to sorting through the donated items so they are easy to look at, and help to create a nice friendly atmosphere for Beechmere residents when they come to the centres at St Peters Church and the old library building.
The council says there is limited space in the donation centres, and they want to make the best of what is available.
Anyone who wants to help is asked to contact the Cheshire East communities team on 01270 685880 (9am-3pm Monday-Friday).
Meanwhile, a Just Giving page set up to help residents has raised nearly £30,000.
