Two die in Nantwich fire

Two people have been found dead at a property in Nantwich following a house fire.

Crews from Nantwich, Audlem and Tarporley attended the incident at a bungalow on Mount Close just before 9am yesterday (Sunday, February 9).

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire said the fire is believed to have been located in the bedroom.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel and a main jet to tackle the flames, a large fan was used to disperse the smoke.

Two people were found unresponsive inside the property and were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire service say their family have been informed and are being supported by officers.

An investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the fire is now underway.
