Two men have been arrested after police stopped a car on the motorway yesterday and found it contained more than £2000 worth of cash and cocaine.
Police monitoring the yellow Ford Focus deployed a stinger at junction 15 at around 6pm.
An 18-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent and a 28-year-old man from Rugby were arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle and drugs offences.
A large amount of cocaine valued at around £1,500, £700 cash and a number of phones were all seized during the stop and search.
Detective Sergeant Jon Bradbury of Staffordshire Police, said: “These arrests are indicative of the good work being carried out by Staffordshire Police alongside CMPG in relation to drugs offences.
“We are committed to tackling drug crime in the county and will continue to take positive action against those who engage in such activity.”
