TSB Bank has announced it is to shut 82 branches across the UK next year including ones in Staffordshire and Cheshire.
The Cannock branch is to shut in September, with the Congleton site to close the following month.
The move will affect a total of 370 jobs.
The closures have been brought on by the need to reduce losses and boost profits across the group, whose management has recently been heavily criticised following a mass account shut out in April of last year.
The incident left thousands of account holders without access to their money.
A statement on the TSB website said: "We know the way many of our customers do their banking is changing and continues to change. In the last two years we’ve seen a 17% decrease in the number of overall transactions in our branches.
"2.5 million of our customers now choose to bank online, with over 1 million accessing their account on our mobile app.
"We want to make sure we meet the future needs of our customers, as well as having the right number of branches.
"So while we continue to invest in existing and new services and technology, this will mean closing some branches."
