A 13 year-old boy has been charged following a playground fire in North Staffordshire.
The fire service attended a report of a large fire at the playing fields off High Lane in Brown Edge on Saturday 24 September.
Although the fire was quickly extinguished, severe damage had been caused to the children’s play area and officers from Staffordshire Police began an investigation.
A 13 year-old suspect was identified and arrested the following morning.
He has now been charged with criminal damage by fire and will attend the youth court later this month.
