Stoke on Trent author aims for big screen

Richard in a scene from the short film

A Stoke On Trent man's aiming to make his book of his father's escape from communist Hungary into a movie.

Richard Pekar has already made it into a short film, which is being screened in Budapest next month.

He says they've got an influential audience coming to view it, including a producer whose worked on films such as Rambo.

Richard is getting advice and support from director Klaudia Kovacs, who was behind documentary 'Torn From the Flag', which is about the same period in Hungarian history.

He is now looking for ways to fund the project, and get his father's story into our cinemas.
