Cheshire East bosses say action will be taken

Lessons will be learnt - the pledge from Cheshire East Council bosses after failings were highlighted in a report on the handling of a proposed Waste Transfer Station in Macclesfield.

It suggests officers broke financial rules and EU regulations, and work at the Lyme Green site started without planning permisson.

Its cost taxpayers £810,000, before being scrapped.

Thats despite only £650,000 being approved for the project.
