Potters slump to defeat

Stoke Potters were beaten 55-37 at Mildenhall in the National Trophy yesterday.

Kyle Hughes top scored for the Potters with nine points, while Ben Reade and Lee Smart chipped in with seven each.

Potters team manager Malcolm Vasey said: "We were simply out gated by the Mildenhall riders.

"We are a team that is still coming together and that was our first meeting, there is plenty of room for improvement which I will be expecting to see in our next meeting at Buxton on Saturday."

Skipper Luke Priest (pictured) commented "There were many positives to be taken from the meeting, yes it was disappointing to lose by so many points but it was our first meeting as a team.

"There is a great team spirit amongst the lads and we will not let our heads go down and we are now looking forward to going to Buxton next week."
