Police investigate two arson attacks on vehicles in Cheshire

Police have launched an investigation after two vehicles were set on fire in the early hours in Cheshire.

Firefighters were called to reports of a car being on fire on the roadway in Gresty Terrace, Sydney in Crewe around 6.15am.

On arrival the crew found the vehicle well alight.

The fire had also damaged the car parked in front of it.

Firefighters extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet and were in attendance for around 50 minutes.

Police also attended.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Earlier fire crews were called to a blaze involving a people carrier in Winsford.

It broke out shortly before 1am in Austin Close.

On arrival the crew discovered that the fire involved the engine compartment of a people carrier.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the fire and were in attendance for around 40 minutes.

Police also attended.

It is suspected that the fire was started deliberately.
