Man charged with distraction burglaries in Stoke-on-Trent

Detectives investigating a series of distraction burglaries in Stoke-on-Trent have charged a man from the city.

Stuart Hipkiss, 34, of Mulgrave Street, Cobridge has been charged with three counts of burglary and one count of fraud.

The charges relate to a burglary on Kempthorne Road in Hanley, and fraud at a business on Waterloo Street in Hanley on June 14.

Hipkiss has also been charged with two burglaries on July 13 on Kingsclere Grove and Kingston Avenue in Sneyd Green.

He appeared at North Staffordshire Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (July 18) and was remanded until his next appearance at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 17 August.
