Police appeal after man left in hospital following fight outside a Congleton pub

A man has suffered a serious leg injury in a fight outside a Congleton pub.

Police say they are investigating a 'large scale disturbance' involving a large group of people at around 7.30pm on Sunday (7 July).

They say it began outside the Ye Olde Kings Arms on High Street, and continued onto Kinsey Street.

A 53-year-old man sustained a serious leg injury as a result of the incident.

He was taken to hospital via an ambulance and has since been discharged after receiving treatment.

Detectives are urging anyone who was in the area and witnessed any part of the altercation to come forward.

They also want to speak to anyone who has any mobile phone or dashcam footage regarding the incident.

Detective Constable Hasan Hasircioglu said: “A man suffered a serious injury that required hospital treatment as a result of the large scale altercation.

“We are determined to establish exactly what happened outside the Ye Olde Kings Arms on the night of Sunday 7 July and who was responsible and we want to hear from anyone who can help us with this.

“Perhaps you were in the area and witnessed what happened, or maybe you have mobile phone or dashcam footage concerning what took place.

“We also want to speak to anyone with information regarding those who were involved in the altercation.
