A person has died after being hit by a train in Cheshire.
British Transport Police say they were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Winsford station just before 11am this morning (3 January), while National Rail tweeted a person had been hit by a train.
Paramedics also attended the incident.
A person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for BTP said: "Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Lines between Crewe and Liverpool/Wigan were blocked for around two hours.
All reopened around 1pm, but delays to services are expected until around 3pm.
