No overall control at city council but Tories gain more seats

No party has gained overall control following the local elections at Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

Labour has the most seats with 16, the Conservative have 15, the City Independents 12 and there is one non-aligned Independent.

The Tories only had seven seats before the local election.

Former council leader Dave Conway lost his seat in Little Chell and Stanfield, losing out to Labour's David Williams.

Labour leader Mohammed Pervez regained his seat.

20-year-old Conservative Heather Blurton, became one of the youngest councillors having gained the Eaton Park and Bucknall seat.
