New owners of Congleton nightclub

A Newcastle-under-Lyme based nightclub and bar group has announced the acquisition of Raphael’s nightclub in Congleton.

Disco Bars Group who operate Manhattans & Buddha in Ashby de la Zouch, Manhattans and Society in Uttoxeter, KIKI in Manchester, Bamboogy Bolton and last year opened Society triple scene venue in Leek have acquired the site which closed for trading a fortnight ago.

Group MD Pete Terry commented “The best deals work for everybody and this deal represents our opportunity to acquire a great local nightclub”

“We intend to commence an immediate refurbishment and will announce an opening date in due course.

“More details about the venue we are going to build will be released soon, but one thing is for sure – it will be the biggest party in Congleton and will feature an illuminated dancefloor and mirrorballs in keeping with our other venues”

The wider Disco group via subsidiary Disco Bowl recently acquired 7 bowling sites from administrators Duff and Phelps who handled the defunct MFA bowl group and trades these centres in Nuneaton, Nottingham, Scunthorpe, Sunderland, Worcester, Chatham and Lewisham.

The total group now trades 13 venues.
