Masked man attempts off-licence theft

Macclesfield Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted theft at an off-licence in the town.

At 1.25pm on Sunday 31 March 2013, a man entered Booze Busters in Weston Square wearing a monkey mask.

He made repeated demands for money from the shop assistant but she refused. 

He left empty handed onto Earlsway, heading towards Gawsworth Road.

The offender is described as white, approximately 5ft 9ins tall, in his 20s to 30s and of slim build, with short dark hair and a local accent. 

As well as the monkey mask he was wearing a black canvas style jacket and was carrying a black drawstring bag.

Anyone with information should contact PC Jo Winter-Wake on 101 quoting incident number 382 of 31 March 2013.
