Fire fighters have freed a man from his car after he was trapped following a collision near Congleton.
At around 1.45pm firefighters were called to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on Holmes Chapel Road in Somerford.
Two fire engines, one from Congleton and one from Holmes Chapel attended.
On arrival crews discovered that the collision involved a car and a van.
A man was trapped inside the car.
The road was closed whilst emergency services worked at the scene.
Firefighters got the trapped man out of the car. They then handed him over to the care of paramedics.
A quantity of paint thinners spilt onto the road from the van that was involved in the collision.
Firefighters used specialist absorbent pads to clear the substance from the road.
They then handed the incident over to the police, who were also involved in clearing the road.
Firefighters were in attendance for around 50 minutes.
