Man charged with firearm possession in connection with Crewe incident

A man has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and affray in connection with an incident in Crewe.

It follows an investigation into reports of a shot being fired outside an address on The Birches in Davenport Avenue at 10pm on Sunday 19 April.

The 23-year-old was arrested at an address on Brook Close yesterday (18 May).

He remanded in custody, and is due to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court today (19 May).

On 1 May, 24-year-old Kenneth Stevenson, of Flag Lane in Crewe, was charged with possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and affray.

Nyle Smith, aged 24, of Artle Road in Crewe, was also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and affray.

Stevenson and Smith are due to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday 29 May.

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm has been released on conditional bail.
