Man charged following distraction burglary

A 54-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with a distraction burglary in Stoke-on-Trent,

Thomas Doherty, has been charged with a burglary dwelling and theft on Scotia Road in Burslem on Monday (18 May).

42-year-old Richard Doherty, has also been charged with fraud by false representation after cash was handed over from an address on Brakespeare Street in Goldenhill on Monday (18 May).

The pair from Boathouse Drive appeared at North Staffordshire Magistrates' Court on Thursday and have been remanded until their next court appearance.

A 55-year-old man from Warrington who was arrested on Wednesday has been released without charge.
