A man has been charged after being arrested for a sexual assault in Hanley on Friday night.
Police were called to a report a woman had been attacked near a bus stop on Bethesda Street at around twenty past six.
A 28-year-old man, has been charged with attempted rape, sexual assault, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of committing an offence with the intention of committing a sexual offence.
He is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre tomorrow (13 January) morning.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We take all reports of sexual offences seriously and have a team of specially-trained detectives to support victims.
"Anyone who has concerns should contact 101. Victims will be treated with sensitivity, compassion and respect."
