Man charged after pedestrian seriously injured by lorry

A man has been charged after a lorry collided with a pedestrian near Congleton.

A 33-year-old woman suffered serious leg injuries after the incident on Newcastle Road in Astbury at around 11:45am yesterday.

A child was also taken hospital to be checked over as a precaution.

A 56-year-old man, from Radom in Poland, was arrested following the crash.

He has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
