A man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, following the death of a woman in a fire near Eccleshall.
Crews from Eccleshall, Longton, Stafford and Newcastle were called to the property on Windmill Lane in Croxton, on Sunday morning (27 October).
The woman, named as 83-year-old Sylvia Griffiths, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Since the initial report into the blaze, which suggested it was accidental, Staffordshire Police say further information has come to light which has led to an investigation being commenced.
Detectives are now investigating the circumstances around the fire.
