Man arrested after 14-year-old cyclist injured in collision

A man has been arrested following a collision involving a teenage cyclist in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called just after 5.40pm last night (7 May) to reports that a 14-year-old boy had received serious injuries after being in a collision with a blue Ford Focus on Berwick Road in Sneyd Green.

The boy was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital. Fortunately the injuries were not as serious as first thought and he has since been discharged. 

A 46-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested at his home address on suspicion of dangerous driving. He remains in custody. 

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 611 of 6 June.
