The M6 in Staffordshire is closed due to an accident involving two lorries and shed load of paper bales.
It is shut from junction 15 for Stoke-on-Trent to 14 for Stafford North.
One lane is also closed northbound in the roadworks area.
Please see attached image from the scene on the #M6 #Staffordshire southbound between J15 #A500 #StokeOnTrent and J14 #Stafford which our crews are dealing with and trying their best to get cleared as quickly as possible pic.twitter.com/w9aHHagSUy— Highways England (@HighwaysWMIDS) May 13, 2019
Specialist lifting equipment will be required to clear the lanes before the motorway can reopen.
The A500 D-Road is also closed in both directions at Hanchurch to allow traffic management.
Highways bosses say a diversion is in place. Follow Hollow Triangle symbol - exit M6 at J15 onto the A500 eastbound. At the first roundabout at Hanford take the 3rd exit onto A34 south. Continue on A34 to re-join M6 at J14.
