A man has been airlifted to hospital following a crash involving three lorries and a tanker on the M6 in Cheshire.
The northbound carriageway is shut between junction 18 for Holmes Chapel and junction 19 for Knutsford, following the incident around 12:30pm.
The southbound carriageway was also closed for a short time to allow the air ambulance to land.
One male casualty was released from his vehicle by firefighters and treated by on scene doctors and paramedics, before being flown to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool.
None of the vehicles are believed to be carrying hazardous substances, with fire bosses saying the tanker carrying 27 tonnes of flour has not been compromised following the crash.
