Investigation into Staffordshire drugs supply uncovers massive cannabis farm

Two people have been arrested by Staffordshire Police following the discovery of a cannabis farm.

Officers executed a warrant on a property on Willoughbridge lane in Willoughbridge at 6:30am this morning, where they discovered 1,615 plants and other related drug production paraphernalia.

The plants and drug producing equipment are being removed and will be destroyed once investigations are completed.

Mark Barlow, Inspector at Newcastle, said: "Today, my officers  have interrupted the production and reduced the supply of cannabis in the area.

"This is a significant cannabis farm that has been discovered and one that will now be destroyed.

"It could even turn out to the be one of the largest finds in the north of the county in recent years.

"We are determined to continue our pursuit of those producing and supplying drugs throughout Staffordshire.

"Working with the community and our strategic partners, Staffordshire Police are having more and more success in discovering production facilities and closing them down.

"Staffordshire Police are eager to speak to anyone who can give information on this seizure and possible  drug misuse in the area . They are asked to call 101 and quote reference 622 of October 26.

"Alternatively they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 where information left can neither be recorded nor traced."
