Four charged after supermarket thefts

Police investigating two distraction thefts in Congleton have charged four people.

The charges relate to a distraction theft at Aldi in Congleton on 19 November and Morrison’s in Congleton on 27 October.

The two victims - aged 84 and 72 - had their cards stolen and cards used to withdraw money.

A 44-year-old man was charged with two counts of theft and two counts of fraud by false representation; a 33-year-old woman was charged with two counts of theft; a 40-year-old man was charged with theft; and a 36-year-old woman was also charged with theft.

They will appear at South and East Cheshire Magistrates on 3 December 2015.
