Four arrested over phone shop burglary

A fourth man has been arrested by officers investigating a break in at a phone shop in Newcastle.

Police were called to the 3 Store on Castle Walk in the early hours of this morning (3 January).

During the incident, the alarm was activated by the intruders.

Officers later stopped a suspect vehicle on Leek Road on Stoke-on-Trent at around 9.55am, and three men were detained.

A 41-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme, and two men aged 27 and 35 of no fixed address, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

This afternoon, a fourth man has been taken into custody.

The 32-year-old, of no fixed address, was also arrested on suspicion of burglary.

All four men arrested in connection with the burglary remain in police custody, and enquiries are on-going.
