Family pay tribute to Stafford man

The family of a Stafford man who died after a road traffic collision near Penkridge have paid tribute to him.

39 year-old Ian McDonald, of Ingestre Road, suffered fatal injuries when his grey BMW 330 hit a tree in Congreve Road, Congreave, between 9.50pm on Tuesday 27th August and 4.50am on Wednesday 28th August.

Ian's mother and father, Christine and Ian, and younger brothers Derek and David, have issued the following statement.

"Ian was born in Glasgow in 1973 and emigrated with his family to South Africa in 1982. He studied at University in Grahamstown, and after qualifying as a pharmacist he returned to England.

"He came to Stafford three years ago and managed the pharmacy at a local health centre in Penkridge. He leaves behind his fiancee Alyson and their son Jack.

"He will be sadly missed by his family and everybody who knew him. Ian's friends and acquaintances are welcome to attend his funeral service, which will be held at Stafford Crematorium on Friday 6 September at 1pm."
