An elderly man is being treated for multiple injuries following a two vehicle crash in Staffordshire.

Emergency services received reports of an incident involving a car and a van on the A34 Stone Road, between the A51 Darlaston Island and Tittensor Road, just before 9am this morning (30 November).

The male driver of the car was cut free by fire crews from Stone and Longton.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance to the scene, and the air ambulance also attended.

The man has now been taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital by land ambulance.

The road has been closed while vehicles are recovered, and a fuel spillage is cleared up.
