Eight crews tackling grass fire

Firefighters are tackling a large grass fire in Mow Cop, which has spread quickly due to strong winds.

Emergency services were called to Heatherside in Mow Cop at 2:45pm this afternoon (3 June).

Eight fire engines are in attendance - one from Congleton, one from Macclesfield, one from Nantwich, one from Winsford, one from Crewe, one from Sandyford, one from Kidsgrove, and one from Newcastle.

On arrival crews found a large fire measuring approximately 20 metres by 30 metres, which quickly spread to approximately 60m by 30m due to strong winds.
