Around 40 firefighters have been tackling a blaze between Congleton and Macclesfield.
Nine fire engines from Macclesfield, Congleton, Bollington, Crewe, Middlewich, Alsager, Sandbach and Knutsford were called to reports of a fire at a hay shed on Cowbrook Lane in Gawsworth.
On arrival the crews discovered a fire involving a barn containing hay bales along with a separate fire involving rubbish and disused tyres.
The fire was then sectorised with three main jets were used externally with a main jet used to the rear of the barn.
The second fire was extinguished at around 6.50pm.
Hay was removed from the affected building and damped down.
The electrical supply was also isolated.
Firefighting operations continued through the night with crews making good progress in dampening down the removed hay.
A cooling ground monitor has been set up in the field for hay that has been removed from the barn.
The incident has been de-sectorised.
Three main jets continue to fight the fire. The crews are continuing to monitor the hotspots inside the barn.
Relief crews from Audlem and Macclesfield have arrived on scene.
