Cyclist drug dealer jailed after being tackled by officers in Sainsbury's car park

A Stafford man has been jailed, after being caught with wraps of heroin in a supermarket car park.

Officers stopped Dean Holland, of Glover Street, at 1.30pm on 3 December in Sainsbury’s car park, in Chell Road.

They tried to search the 31-year-old, but they said he 'was not compliant', and restrained him on the floor.

During the struggle, he was seen throwing away a plastic egg.

It was found to contain multiple deals of class A drugs.

A mobile phone was also recovered from Holland which contained messages about deals on it.

He has been jailed for 45 months at Stafford Crown Court after admitting possession with intent to supply heroin, as well as possession of cannabis.

Sergeant Tom Fotherby, of Stafford Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The team at Stafford has already secured four convictions for drugs offences this year.

“We will continue to strive to bring dealers before the courts.”
