The newly installed Chief Constable of Staffordshire Police Gareth Morgan says they will continue working with other partners to get their message across about the dangers of knife crime.
A week long knife amnesty is currently taking place, last year over 1,100 knives were handed in while crime dropped 18 per-cent.
However the use of knives in all crimes has continued to increase with a 16 per-cent increase on the year before.
Figures also show 70 per-cent of people admitted to A&E with knife injuries are stabbed with their own knife.
Special knife bins have been set up across the county for people to handed their bladed instruments in.
