Cheshire Police prepare for rise in domestic violence incidents over festive period

Police in Cheshire are reminding people affected by domestic abuse and violence that support is available.

The force has seen a rise in incidents during the Christmas period in recent years, as tensions sometimes increase as families spend more together, combined with alcohol which can lead to arguments and potentially domestic violence.

Cheshire Police say they have have dedicated resources on hand to deal with domestic incidents as they occur, and officers are equipped with powers that can help them to deal with perpetrators of domestic violence and abuse effectively and efficiently.

They are also urging perpetrators to seek help to prevent them lashing out.
