Business owners find out more about £42m City Council contracts

More than 200 companies have today been finding out how they can sign up to bid for contracts worth £42 million a year at Stoke-on-Trent city council.

The local authority is looking for repairs and maintenance firms to work alongside its own company once the current contract with Kier Stoke comes to an end in February next year.

The information and networking session has provided details about upcoming opportunities, as well as give local businesses the chance to learn more about the council’s plans for the future.

Companies have been able to register their interest in upcoming work, enabling the authority to establish a framework of local contractors by this autumn. Once on the framework, the intention is to offer agreements of three years or more, to provide a long-term commitment to local companies.
