Teams searching for a missing fisherman in Staffordshire have found a body.
79-year-old Roger Wheat was last seen at Ellastone, near Uttoxeter, on Tuesday afternoon (7 January).
Sadly, the body of a man, believed to be Roger, was found this afternoon (10 January) during a search of the River Dove.
His family have been informed.
Staffordshire Search and Rescue, Nottinghamshire Police’s Underwater Search Unit and the Environment Agency were amongst specialist teams brought in to assist with the search.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "We would like to thank colleagues, partner agencies and the public for their assistance and support during the search.
"Formal identification will take place in due course.
"Detectives do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner."
