Woods and Afobe complete permanent Stoke moves

Stoke City have completed the permanent transfers of Ryan Woods and Benik Afobe.

The pair moved to the bet365 Stadium in loan deals during the summer transfer window, with a view to permanent deals during January.

The formalities of both transfers have now been completed, with the Potters paying undisclosed fees to Brentford and Wolves for Woods and Afobe respectively.

Born in Norton Canes, 25-year-old Woods has rapidly established himself as a midfield mainstay for City, making 21 league appearances.

He started his career with Saturday's FA Cup opponents Shrewsbury, before joining Brentford.

Striker Afobe, also 25, has scored six goals for the Potters in 26 league appearances.

He started his career with Arsenal and joined Wolves – for the first time – in 2015 where he scored 22 goals in 46 appearances, prompting Bournemouth to pay £10million for his services a year later.
