Stoke suffer shock cup defeat

Stoke City are out of the FA Cup.

They suffered a shock 3-2 defeat to League One Shrewsbury Town in a third round replay.

The Potters were two up with just 19 minutes left before bowing out.

19-year-old striker Tyrese Campbell on his first senior start scored twice for Stoke in the first half.

Shrewsbury full back and self-confessed Stoke fan James Bolton, hit a screamer on 71 minutes for the visitors.

They were then awarded a penalty five minutes later which was coolly converted by Fejiri Okenabirhie.

Josh Laurent then stunned the home crowd with the winner nine minutes from time.

Stoke boss Nathan Jones made eight change for the cup tie with only Ashley Williams, Sam Clucas and Tom Ince surviving from the weekend defeat to Brentford.

There were first starts since September for Charlie Adam and Moritz Bauer while Josh Tymon started his first game for the club in twelve months.
