Stoke Potters postpone speedway tie

They've now rearranged Saturday’s Three Team Tournament fixture at Loomer Road to take place later in the month.

The decision has been taken after heavy rain earlier this week and the forecast for the remainder of the week, which has made it impossible to put heavy machinery onto the track to bring it back into peak condition for speedway racing.

The club say they don't want to risk the reputation of their circuit from the closing part of last season and their opening meeting of 2019 by running an event in potentially sub-standard conditions.

They also say they are fully committed to running the meeting featuring the Potters and teams representing Buxton and Crewe which will now take place on Saturday May 25th.

A spokesperson said: "We trust supporters will understand that we want to give them the best possible speedway viewing experience, and the change of date for this fixture will enable us to do that."

The next meeting at Loomer Road is on Sunday May 12th when the A.R.Richards Potters host Kent in the National League.
