Former Oldham defender Zak Mills has signed for Port Vale.
The 28-year-old full-back has joined on a free transfer from the Latics.
He is the club's second signing this summer, following the arrival of Devante Rodney.
Mills, who made 25 appearances for Oldham Athletic last season, can play at either right-back or left-back and can also play in a midfield role.
Throughout his senior career, he has made 312 appearances, scoring 14 goals in that time.
Mills started his senior career at Histon in 2010 before moving to Boston United in 2014.
His former clubs also include Grimsby and Morecambe.
Assistant manager Dave Kevan said: “He knows this level, and it gives us good competition for young James (Gibbons) who will need that
“He’s a good footballer and he likes to join in going forward, we’re looking forward to working with him.
“He’s come in as a right-back first and foremost but if we need him to play in another position, he’ll be available for that role.”
Mills has signed a one-year deal at Vale, keeping him tied to the club until June 2021.
