New Stoke boss on defeat in first game in charge

Stoke City were beaten 3-1 at Brentford in Nathan Jones' first game in charge.

The Potters were two down inside the opening 17 minutes through a Ryan Shawcross and a strike from Said Benrahma.

A stunning strike from Benik Afobe reduced the arrears midway through the half.

But a second half goal from Rico Henry nine minutes after the restart sealed victory for the Bees.

Stoke are now 15th in the table eight points off the play-off places.

The Potters are back in action on Tuesday night when they entertain Shrewsbury in an FA Cup replay.
